Dmitry Rybolovlev is the globe trotting, Trump following Russian oligarch who bought a very expensive house from Mr. Trump in 2008. It was “believed to be the most expensive home sale in US history” right when then housing market was crashing and the global financial crisis of 2007-2008 was in full swing.
Yes, this was a remarkable real estate deal, but both Donald and Dmitry would like you to believe they have never personally met.
According to this report,
Rybolovlev has never lived in the mansion and has since torn it down. Both he and Trump have insisted that they never met at any point during the historic transaction.
Did they make themselves clear?
"No member of the Trump campaign or Mr. Trump met with Mr. Rybolovlev during the campaign or any other time," said the official, who requested anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
In case you didn’t quite catch their meaning…
Rybolovlev has never lived in the mansion and has since torn it down. Both he and Trump have insisted that they never met at any point during the historic transaction.
"The president has said on several occasions, he sold a home in Palm Beach to a Russian once — that person is Mr. Rybolovlev," the White House official said. "Mr. Trump did not meet with him during that transaction either, which took place in 2008."
Get it? Capisce? Ponimayu?
Reached for comment, Rybolovlev's spokesman, Brian Cattell, said, "Mr. Rybolovlev and Mr. Trump have never met."
This Isn’t True.
Not according to this article in the New York Post, dated January 1, 2012.
The report is actually about Dmitry Rybolovlev’s daughter, Ekaterina. It’s an interesting account of a child born to great wealth and caught up in a really nasty divorce.
In it,
Trump told The Post he was delighted last year when Dmitry plunked down the full $95 million asking price for his Palm Beach estate, which Trump had purchased for $41 million in 2004. “I didn’t do much to the house,” Trump said. “I just painted it.”
At the very end of the article Trump remembers meeting Ekaterina Rybolovleva.
Trump said he didn’t remember much about meeting Dmitry last year, but at least one thing stuck in his mind. “The daughter was beautiful. I’m looking forward to them being my neighbors.
Classic Trump...and...yuck.
They’re lying.
But why the lie?
Have recent events necessitated some sort of cover up?
